The eyeball test

We recently were talking with someone from the Midwest who's undertaking a house hunt, and they mentioned the sticker shock of OC pricing was enormous. Granted, prices are lower than they were during the bubble, but things are still pretty nuts compared to most of the rest of the country.

Let's play a bit of a game. It's simple: We'll show you three houses and give some minimal info for each. See if you can guess which of the three is most expensive.

The most expensive of these three properties is asking $499,000. Can you guess which it is?

Property 1
Located in Laguna Niguel

Size
: 3 beds, 3 baths, 1,387 sq ft

Property 2
Located in Laguna Niguel
Size:
2 beds, 2.5 baths,
1,605 sq ft

Property 3
Located in Laguna Niguel
Size: 3 beds, 2.5 baths,
1,438 sq ft

Which of these three properties is the most expensive and is asking $499,000?

What are the other properties asking? Click here....and here to find out.

Let's try one more...the most expensive of these three properties is asking $5.5 million. Can you tell which one it is?

Property 1
Located in San Clemente
Size: 5 beds, 5 baths,
6,700 sq ft

Property 2
Located in San Clemente
Size: 3 beds, 3 baths, 2,000 sq ft

Property 3
Located in Dana Point
Size: 4 beds, 4 baths, 4,500 sq ft

Which of these three properties is the most expensive with an asking price of $5.5 million?

In case you'd like to buy one of the other two...see what the other prices were here and here.

Personally, we'll go with property 3 any day - Yeah Ritz Cove!

That house on Valencia is worth maybe one-fifth of what they are asking. It needs complete relandscaping and redecoration. Plus you have the train noise to deal with. What a joke!
